Vanishing edge and catch basin
Infinity Edge Pools & Spas
An infinity edge spills water by design, which hides a real leak. We measure the loss against the day's evaporation, then pressure test the whole plumbing system.
At the waterline
Aquatrace is a family business in Fair Play, SC. Whether the water is going out of a backyard liner pool, a vanishing edge, a gunite pool with a rock waterfall or an apartment complex pool, the visit follows the same process: confirm the loss, pressure the lines, listen under the deck, dive the shell if it needs it, then email you the findings.
Rates depend on the type of pool, so every job starts with a short phone consultation on (864) 710-8636.

Vanishing edge and catch basin
An infinity edge spills water by design, which hides a real leak. We measure the loss against the day's evaporation, then pressure test the whole plumbing system.

Backyard pools and the spas that share their water. Liner punctures found on the visit are patched then.
Standard pool leaks
Apartment complex pools and other commercial pools, where a leak costs money every day it runs.
Commercial pool leaks
Gunite, waterfalls and raised spas
Rock features, raised spas and long plumbing runs give water more places to leave. The Powdersville, SC gunite pool shown here is one we tested.
Not every leak needs every method. Every pool type gets as many as it takes to find the source. The bucket test will tell you whether to call.
At the waterline
We start by confirming the loss is real. A baseline reading is taken against the day's evaporation index, and a final reading closes the job after testing and any repairs, so the number on the report is a measurement and not a guess.
In the basin
A reservoir inspection of the pool basin and the spa basin, because a spa that shares the water gives it a second place to leave from.
In the lines
The filtration system and the entire plumbing system are pressure tested, one run at a time, so a line that holds is ruled out and a line that bleeds down is named.
Under the deck
Water, air and specialized listening devices worked along the plumbing buried under the concrete until the sound of escaping water is loudest. That spot is where you dig, instead of opening the whole deck to look.
At the crack
Dye released next to a suspect fitting, skimmer throat or crack shows whether water is actually drawing out of it.
On the floor
When the shell itself needs a look, Chris Sears goes in the water, NAUI certified, and the underwater photographs go into your findings report.
In your inbox
Simple epoxy and vinyl repairs are included at no additional charge with the service fee. If Aquatrace finds a puncture or a small crack it can patch on the visit, it patches it.
Major repairs are a different job. For those, we consult with you and recommend the most cost-effective solution, and that is usually your original pool contractor.
After the inspection a digital copy of the findings report is emailed to you, with underwater photographs when the shell was dived. Fees are due at the time of service, and the day-of checklist covers how to have the pool ready.
No Find, Full Refund
If the pool is losing half an inch or more of water daily, with no heater running, and the team fails to locate the source, the service is refunded. Read the exact terms in the FAQ.
